Registration for the ISTE EdTech Coaches winter 2018 book study is now open! This year’s focus will be the book Learning First, Technology Second by Liz Kolb. The study is open to all ISTE members, who will also receive a free EPUB version of the book upon registration (technically, anyone can participate… but only ISTE members will receive the free book download).
The book study will take place from January 16 through February 23, 2018. The study will be conducted through Twitter in a slow chat format. The study will devote a week to each section of the book with a unique question each day (the schedule will be sent when you register).
What’s a slow chat? It’s an asynchronous Twitter chat that only poses one question per day, and participants can respond to the question at any point throughout the day (as opposed to 5-10 questions and responses taking place in a synchronous, one hour time frame like a typical Twitter Chat). Conversations are streamed together using the same hashtag (#ETCoaches for the book study), and a tool like TweetDeck allows you to keep track and follow along easily.
There’s typically a couple hundred tech coaches from all over the world who register and participate. It’s a great way to connect with other edtech coaches!
To register, go to bit.ly/ETCBookStudy18.
Will you be participating? If you’ve read the book, what did you think?
Tech To You Later!

I’ve never read this book, but I am intrigued by the content. I’d love to participate in a book study like this.
