Creating a District Culture of “Yes And…” With Schoology – NEXT 2017 Presentation

I’m really excited that I will be able to go to the Schoology NEXT conference in Chicago this year. I work with a few districts that use Schoology (and I personally am a big proponent of the LMS), so I’m pumped to get to make sure I’m using the platform in all the best ways and then share that with the teachers in the area.

I’m also presenting one session: Creating a District Culture of “Yes And…” With Schoology on Tuesday, July 25 from 12:15 – 1:00 p.m. in Room 7 of McCormick Place South Building – Level 4.

Schoology NEXT Session Description

In order for Schoology to be truly valuable in your organization, it needs to be at the core of the entire district. This session will discuss strategies and ideas to get everyone- from students and teachers to edtech coaches, building administrators and curriculum teams to parents- embracing Schoology as their one stop shop for all school needs! Attendees will walk away with strategies that they can immediately implement into their districts for buy-in from all stakeholders. The session objectives are as follows:

1) Attendees will walk away with new strategies and ideas to immediately implement to create a culture where Schoology is ingrained throughout the district, and not seen as an “extra thing to do.”
2) Attendees will walk away with strategies that they can immediately implement to get parent and student support surrounding a Schoology culture
3) Attendees will share their own best practices and ideas for creating a “yes and” Schoology culture with one another

I Want to Hear Your Ideas!

Two heads are better than one, right?! I’ve got a number of ideas up my own sleeve to fill up the 45 minutes, but I’d love to include some of your ideas for creating a building/district culture that embraces Schoology. What are some of the most clever ways that you have used Schoology in your buildings and districts? Don’t be shy; comment on the blog below (include a link to your blog and/or Twitter account so I can give you credit in the presentation) or post to the Flipgrid below.

If you’ve never done a Flipgrid, don’t worry… it’s easy (this was my first one)! To post to the Flipgrid, simply click the link below, then select the “Ideas for Culture of Schoology” topic, and then hit the big green plus sign. It will record up to a 1 minute and 30 second video of you (don’t worry… doesn’t need to be fancy!) and post to the stream with others’ videos.

Thanks for all your ideas! If you’re going to be at the conference too, please introduce yourself… I love to meet my online PLN peeps in person. See you at Schoology NEXT 2017!

Tech To You Later!
