Back to the Blog

I’m 20 days away from wrapping up a chapter of my life that has consumed me the past three years… and from being called “Dr. Ritter” for the first time!

I’ve been working on earning my doctorate from Vanderbilt University since January of 2019, and as I’m wrapping up final details of my capstone paper and presentation, my brain is finally starting to clear of the never-ending to-do list, due dates, assignments, papers, class discussions, and readings. The absence of the academic hamster wheel on the brain is allowing space in my head for things I want to blog about now that I’ll have time again. My research focus for my Ed.D. is on supporting the growth and development of instructional coaches. There is just so much I want to share with you, my readers!

Blogging has been a way for me to process, reflect, and share since 2012. My platform and focus has shifted a bit over the years, but I’ve always been focused on improving education through the lens of supporting teachers with technology in the classroom. In 2016/17, I really started to target my blogs to edtech coaches. My latest academic journey and current role overseeing a team of the greatest instructional design coaches there ever were has only further fueled my passion for supporting instructional coaches, and in particular, those who support technology integration with instruction.

I’ve posted so infrequently over the past few years. I just couldn’t keep up… or look at a computer… or type another word that wasn’t required of me. As I logged back in to write this post today, I see how many comments have been neglected in the past few years. I apologize for leaving you wondering and unanswered.

I am so excited to return back to blogging. I have yet to commit to a frequency schedule, but I do know I will be sharing all that I can to help other instructional coaches, in particular, other instructional technology coaches!

So, if you’re an instructional coach or you support instructional coaches, I hope you will stick around and rejoin me on the next phase of my blogging journey. If you’re not an instructional coach and don’t support them, you are of course welcome, too! And maybe, you have no idea what a “tech coach” even is… I’ve included episode 1 of the Restart Recharge Podcast for coaches that my team at work started in early 2021 to help clear it up.

Tech To You Later!
